Speak Your Change

We do not have a choice whether or not we live by words. However, we have a choice of what words we live by. In this message, Pastor DaVon Alexander shares how impactful your words are and that nothing happens until something is spoken.

Notes

Romans 1:17

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

  • Faith is a way of living

Romans 10:8-10

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

  • Believe in your heart, say with your mouth

Colossians 2:6

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

  • Follow Him the same way you received Him

Hebrews 11:3 TPT

Faith empowers us to see that the universe was created and beautifully coordinated by the power of God’s words! He spoke and the invisible realm gave birth to all that is seen.

  • We don't have a choice whether or not we live by words. We do, however, have a choice of what words we live by

  • Whatever you have been consistently saying is what you currently have now.

Genesis 1:1-3

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

  • Nothing happens until something is spoken

  • Words are sounds that carry meaning

  • Sound before sight

  • Sound changes your scenery

  • If you’re unhappy with what you have in life, check out what you’ve been saying

Proverbs 18:20-21

A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

  • Mouth, Lips, Tongue

  • Produce – Production, creation, and increase

  • Your life is filled with the production of your lips

  • As fruit satisfies your stomach, words will satisfy your life.

  • He who loves to talk will reap the consequences

Romans 4:17

(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;

  • Call - to command or request to come

  • Change your words, change your world

  • Your words can limit you or loose you

  • Words set the course of your life

Joel 3:10

Let the weak say, “I am Strong”

  • You can turn around any situation with your words

  • James 3:2 your words have to able to control your entire body

  • Words are spiritual containers that carry power

  • Words have creative ability

  • You are the prophet of your own life

Mark 11:22-23

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

  • If what you have in life were all up to God, Jesus would never have said you can have what you say

  • As long as you can move your mouth, you can move a mountain

  • Words can move mountains because mountains are made out of words

  • The word that was spoken to you must be spoken thru you

2 Corinthians 4:13

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak

  • I believe therefore I speak

  • The devil doesn’t care what you believe as long as you stay quiet about it.
