Who is calling the shots in your life?

  • 4 out of 5 adults report feeling stressed about money and experience anxiety about their financial situations. 

  • Financial worries are significantly associated with psychological distress.

  • Experts in behavioral finance estimate that the average person thinks about money 10 to 20 times per day.

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

  • If you serve God, you don’t have to worry about your life.

  • If you serve money, you will worry about your life. 

  • If you are worried about your life, you may be serving Mammon.

Matthew 6:25-34

  • Worry is a sin. Jesus directly commands you not to worry. 

  • Hope is an expectation of a good outcome. Worry is an expectation of a bad outcome. 

  • Worry is designed to zap you of joy which is your strength for the day 

  • You can ruin your present by worrying about your future.

  • Worry divides your mind

  • Worry preoccupies your mind with the troubles of tomorrow and brings them into today. 

  • We can either choose to worry or trust God

Matthew 6:33

  • Giving to the Kingdom of God first ensures that God’s kingdom is funded ahead of yours. 

  • Putting God’s Kingdom first by giving shows that you trust Him to take care of you and your needs. You’re saying, “God, Your plans come before mine, and I know You’ve got me covered.”
