Listening is the key to all effective communication
Listening is the ability to receive messages accurately
Listening requires focus
The most powerful way to connect with God is to listen.
The most significant gift we can offer God is our attention.
To listen effectively you need to use more than just your ears.
Hearing His voice will be much more challenging if you're unfamiliar with the Word.
Get familiar with God's voice by studying the Word of God.
Proverbs 20:27
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.
Psalms 18:28
For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.
Your spirit is a lamp. The Holy Spirit will lighten your lamp.
Many of us are confused about how we are to be led by God.
We look for the spectacular and we miss the supernatural.
Sometimes the Holy Spirit doesn’t specifically tell you which job to take or which house to buy. So the primary way to be led by the Spirit is through inner light.
Inner light
Peace on the inside
Nowhere does God say that He will guide you by your physical senses
I have a green light until I have a yellow or red light
Example: Moving to Charlotte and buying my house
