The Other Side

In this message, Pastor DaVon shares the powerful moment when Jesus told His disciples, “Let’s cross over to the other side.” This call wasn’t just about a physical journey—it was an invitation to deeper faith and spiritual authority. Are you ready to go to the other side? As believers, we are called to actively use our faith and the authority Jesus has given us to confront and overcome invisible spiritual forces. This message will challenge you to step into the fullness of your God-given authority and trust Him as you navigate the challenges ahead.

Notes

Mark 4:35

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”

  • On the same day… Jesus had preached all-day

  • When evening had come… It’s getting dark outside

  • The other side is typically the afterlife.

  • But what if the other side is for you to go to the next phase of your life?

  • Every time Jesus speaks, He speaks the Word of God

  • The Word of God is a promise

  • A promise is an announcement that something will be done.

Mark 4:37-38

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”

  • A great windstorm came out of nowhere

  • The windstorm was a hindrance

  • There is evidence that the boat is going to sink

  • Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat.

  • They, not the storm, woke Jesus up

  • Your reaction determines your emotional response

  • The greatest fear is that what God has promised will not come to pass

Mark 4:39

Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

  • Jesus rebuked the unseen realm (the wind), which was causing the boisterous sea

  • Peace is not the absence of conflict but the presence, power, and promise of Jesus

Mark 4:40-41

But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

  • Why are YOU so fearful?

  • The hurricane caused them to lose faith in the word of God
