Notes
Hebrews 3:12 TPT
So search your hearts every day, my brothers and sisters, and make sure that none of you has evil or unbelief hiding within you. For it will lead you astray, and make you unresponsive to the living God.
We focus on faith so much that we forget about the unbelief that so often lurks beneath the surface.
Today we are going to drive unbelief out of your life.
Mark 9:14-25
Jesus came down the mountain and encountered a dispute with His defeated disciples, a disappointed dad, and a demon-possessed boy.
Some people we diagnose as physically or mentally ill today are demon-possessed.
Dad is fearful, uncertain, and hesitant
Help my unbelief is something you can only say by faith.
When the dad says, “If you can do anything..”, he is putting every outcome in the hands of God
The dad was trying to get Jesus to believe for him
Unbelief is present when you continue to: Worry, Fear, Cares, Doubt
Prayer and fasting is an expression of our total dependence on God.
Mark 5:35-36
While He was still speaking, some came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house who said, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?” As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
Don’t yield to the fear; only believe
Get rid of the fear and all you have left is belief.
Galatians 5:6 AMPC
For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.
Realizing how much you are loved by God activates and energizes faith
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
There is NO fear IN love.
The love of God must be developed.
If you have fear in any area, cultivate the love that God has for you.
Love will expel and cast out all fear.
