Philippians 2:9-10
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth
A name consists of integrity, character, reputation, authority
You must understand the significance of who Jesus is
Jesus won back dominion over the invisible and visible realms
His name is our legal authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth (Satan)
You need to understand the substance behind His name
Neither of Jesus’ earthly parents named him
God essentially said, “I am My name”
The main reason we are commanded not to use the name of God in vain is because His name IS who He IS
Mark 16:17-18
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
A promise of divine power and protection
John 14:12-14
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.
Ask - to request, call for, to place a demand upon.
When you declare the name of Jesus, you gain access to heaven, authority on earth, and power over what lies beneath the earth.
You cannot claim power through Jesus' name without having an official child of God status
John 16:23-24
And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.
Power Of Attorney - A power of attorney gives broad powers to a person to act on your behalf; including handling financial and business transactions. It is an effective tool if you will be out of the country and need someone to handle certain matters.
Jesus’ Name can do anything that Jesus can do
Praying in the name of Jesus is giving Jesus power of attorney to intercede on your behalf when you make requests of the Father
If you want to do business with the Father, don’t try to come without the name of Jesus, because his name is the key to heaven
What does the law say about someone who uses a name without legal authority? The law calls it fraud
