Notes
Ephesians 6:18
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints
Ephesians 6:18 NLT
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.
Part of your weaponry is the ability to pray all prayers
Praying in/with the Spirit, Praying in the Holy Ghost, and Praying in Tongues are all synonymous and a part of your armor of God.
Every believer can pray in a spiritual language
Jude 1:20-21
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Build, edify, encourage, and uplift yourself by praying in the spirit
What is Prayer?
Prayer is communion (common union, fellowship, agreement) with God.
Prayer is approaching God to ask Him to accomplish His will on the earth
Whatever is on God's heart is on your heart after praying.
1 Corinthians 14:1-4
Tongues - languages
God has given you a divine means by which you could speak to Him supernaturally.
Speaking mysterious is something that people could never know by their understanding.
Praying in tongues charges you like a battery.
If your spiritual battery runs down, this verse tells you how to get it charged.
Is it possible that you are losing some battles because you're not building yourself up spiritually?
"I don't feel anything while praying in tongues.” Do you always feel something when you pray in English?
1 Corinthians 14:13-15
Two types of prayers: Praying with the Spirit and praying with understanding.
God has given you a means whereby your spirit man can pray apart from your understanding.
Understanding doesn't have anything to do with praying in the spirit
Romans 8:26
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Have you ever felt like you didn’t know what to pray or even how? If so, I have great news for you today!
Acts 2:4
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Speak vs Utterance:
Speak - to use your tongue to make sounds or syllables
Utterance - pronunciation; expression; speech
Open your mouth and start speaking syllables you don't know
You don't speak fluently the first time.
Your father likes it. Ex: Zarek saying "DaDa"
I want every person in this church to pray in the spirit. I’m asking you to have the courage to try.
